“I support the Alzheimer Society of Montreal because it is a cause that means a great deal to me. My uncle lived with Alzheimer’s disease, and I realized just how deeply it affects family members and loved ones. It is a disease that takes pieces of our lives away, little by little… eroding our memories and our relationships with those we care about. I was devastated when my uncle no longer recognized me. I chose monthly giving because it helps ensure I never forget to make my donation, and it is easier because it happens automatically. I want to make sure the Society receives my donation to support people living with the disease.”

“I discovered the Alzheimer Society of Montreal after my husband David was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2018. The first activity he took part in was at their Activity Centre, where he received a warm welcome. He always came home smiling and carrying a new art project in his hands. Later, we took part together in the Fil-d’Art program at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, an experience that was both fun and fascinating. Through their training sessions, I learned, as a caregiver, to better understand the disease. I then joined their support groups and benefited from their excellent counselling services. All of this support helped David and me through the ups and downs of this disease. From the very beginning, I chose to make a monthly donation to the Alzheimer Society of Montreal because it is a simple way for me to contribute. I also know that the Society depends on a steady and substantial source of income, and that monthly donations are an excellent way to help achieve that goal.”
