The Alzheimer Society of Montreal offers services and activities designed for people living with a neurocognitive disorder and their caregivers. Using a person-centred approach, our staff considers your individual needs, abilities and well-being in each of their interventions. Their mission is to promote quality interactions, regardless of the neurocognitive condition of the person affected by the disease. One-on-one activities aim to strengthen bonds, create enriching experiences and offer mutual support.<\/p>

Need respite? The Alzheimer Society of Montreal\u2019s qualified professionals provide caregivers with a planned period of respite, varying from 2 to 4 hours per week. During your respite, your loved one living with a neurocognitive disorder will enjoy stimulating therapeutic activities at home.<\/p>

The Alzheimer Society of Montreal has two activity centres located in Ahuntsic and Saint-Henri. At each facility, clients can rely on qualified staff and volunteers who have the knowledge and expertise required to meet the specific needs of participants and reassure families. These activity centres offer caregivers a few hours of respite on Saturdays, as well as stimulating therapeutic activities for people living with a neurocognitive disorder.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

Located in the Southwest borough of Montreal, our permanent activity centre is secure, spacious, welcoming and entirely designed for the needs of people living with a neurocognitive disorder and their caregivers and families. Laughter Yoga is a program developed by Dr. Madan Kataria. The activity takes place on Zoom. During the sessions, you will be guided through laughter, breathing and adapted movement exercises. There are many benefits to weekly laughter yoga practice for the cardiovascular, respiratory and immune systems. It also has a positive effect on mood and helps reduce stress. The class develops mobility, balance, coordination and relaxation.
